In this portion of our guide, we discuss burner interface, the functionality of internal versus external burners, the difference between double layer or blue laser, and finally, burner software.

How will a burner interface with my computer?

Interface and cable type for connecting burner to your computer depends on your optical drive. Ensure your computer has all necessary ports and matching interfaces to make the connection. The interfaces may be SATA or parallel ATA, USB 2.0, and FireWire. However, USB 2.0 is the most common type of connection and FireWire offers the highest transfer speed among external burners. SATA is the fastest bus speed amongst internal burners.

Internal burners vs external burners: which is better?

You need to decide whether you want an internal CD/DVD burner or external CD/DVD burner. While internal burners are relatively cheaper, it is necessary to dismantle a computer for installation. External burners, conversely, offer a simpler connection and are ideal for traveling purposes.

Blue laser, also known as bluray, drives are capable to record, rewrite, and play huge definition files; 25G or 50G. Bluray discs are successors of red-laser DVD drives and can store five times the capacity of standard blank DVDs.

Software may be used as a tool for capturing, importing, and exporting audio, video, data, as well as for basic audio and video editing. Be sure to find CD/DVD burners that will utilize the latest technology like precision recording software and Pioneer’s proprietary technology to offer you unlimited advantages of accurate, high-quality recording, importing, exporting, and playing discs with ease.
