Earthquake in Japan - CD/DVD Media Shortage
EARTHQUAKES IN JAPAN CAUSE SHORTAGES OF TAIYO YUDEN MEDIA PRODUCTION --
The March 11th earthquake in Japan has crippled production of all CD and DVD media and shipping out of Japan. Many plants are again operational but in a limited capacity. The plant in Sendai Province (which produces watershield and hard coat media) was virtually destroyed.
Many products are on allocation and in limited supply here at BLANKMEDIA.CA
Limited availability and higher shipping costs have caused many skus to see price increases. We will continue to monitor the situation and limit sales orders if required to make sure everyone can still get their favourite media. Update June 1st - - Stock levels and availability will return to normal levels for most products during the month of June.
